Ceremony to Recognize 257 Students

BOSTON, October 20, 2011— Kaplan Career Institute Charlestown and Kenmore Square will hold a joint graduation on Friday, Oct. 21, for 257 students.  The ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. at the Somerville High School, 81 Highland Ave., Somerville, Mass.

The Boston-based campuses will recognize students for earning a diploma in computer support technician; dental assistant; electrician; medical assistant; medical billing and coding specialist; or refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air conditioning.

“We are bringing together our technology and trade-focused students from the Charlestown campus with the Kenmore Square allied health students to celebrate a day they have all worked so hard to reach,” Stephen Carter, president of Kaplan Career Institute, said. “They may have chosen different career paths, but they all shared a common goal of graduating with an education that will help better their lives.”

According to the Statewide Massachusetts Long-Term Occupational Projections, medical assistant positions are expected to increase by 20 percent and dental assistants by 23 percent between 2008 and 2018.

Kaplan Career Institute Charlestown and Kenmore Square are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).  ACCSC is listed as a recognized accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education.
